PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, FilmCraft and four more — native apps written from scratch in Rust, free to use and familiar to anyone who knows Adobe's tools. Here is what each one does and how to get it. Don't want to install anything? Edit a photo online right below.
Waiting for PhotoCraft to download? Crop, rotate and resize a photo right here, then change it with one AI prompt.
ArtCraft is a family of seven open-source creative apps — the "Crafting Apps" — from the ArtCraft team. Each app is written from scratch in Rust and compiled to a native desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux. Six of them also run in the browser through WebAssembly.
The apps borrow the layouts, tools and shortcuts professionals already know from Adobe, so there is little to relearn. They are free, the code is on GitHub under permissive licenses, and every app can be driven from a CLI, a JSON control channel or an MCP server for automation and AI agents.
Both are free to start. Pick by the job, not the brand.
Most apps are still early in development, so expect rough edges.
